Reasons to Use the Postal Validation Services

Postal validation is the process of verifying a postal address to ensure that the ZIP code is correct and matches the address’s location. It also helps verify the ZIP code to make sure it is within the correct range for that address.

Who all needs postal validation?

The process of postal validation is done by both businesses and individuals. Businesses use postal validation when mailing items to customers, either as a courtesy or in order to comply with their contract with their customer (a business may have signed an agreement that requires them to verify the address before mailing any items).

Individuals may use postal validation if they are sending mail within the United States, or if they are sending mail internationally. Individuals may also use postal validation if they know the address of someone else but not the ZIP code. In this case, it is important for them to verify that the ZIP code matches its location within its delivery area before submitting the address to the USPS.

Postal validation is not done on all items sent through the postal service. Most letters and postcards do not require postal validation because they are already deliverable at the ZIP Code level, and therefore it is unnecessary to validate them. However, if an individual is mailing a package, especially if it contains multiple packages, then postal validation may be necessary.

Why is postal validation important?

The postal validation service is a service used to validate mailings sent by mail. The postal service can verify that the mailing was delivered and provide the sender with documentation to prove it. Postal validation service is a service which helps to validate the postal code of any given address. The postal code is only eligible for the validation if they are present in the database of postal codes.

The postal validation service has many benefits for both senders and receivers of mailings. For example, the sender can be sure that their mailing was delivered and received whereas the receiver can be sure that they will receive what was ordered.

How to perform the postal validation

In order to perform postal validation, the user must first get a valid ZIP code from the delivery area of the ZIP code that they want to validate. This can be done by either looking up that ZIP code in a product such as a ZIP+4 products or by contacting their local Post Office and asking for their help in finding the delivery area of their ZIP code. The user then types the ZIP code into the USPS website, and the USPS will provide a list of valid ZIP codes associated with that delivery area.

The user then compares their ZIP code to the list of valid ZIP codes provided by the USPS. If there is a match, then postal validation is completed successfully, and a response code will be returned to indicate this.

If there is no match between the user’s ZIP code and any of those provided by the USPS, then postal validation did not succeed. This can occur if a user has entered an invalid or missing address on their USPS account, has entered an incorrect delivery address (e.g., they have typed in their home address instead of their business or work address.
